Stabenow, Michigan Senator for More Than Two Decades, Won’t Run in 2024
WASHINGTON - Senate Debbie Stabenow, the senior Democratic senator from Michigan and a member of the party's leadership announced on Thursday she will not run for another term in the next election.

The announcement made of Ms. Stabenow, who is 72, was an unprecedented Democrat to announce that she will have no place on the ballot in 2024 . The A New Congress Begins

The 118th Congress began on January. 3 with Republicans having control of the House and Democrats controlling the Senate.

Republicans have promised to run an aggressive campaign to win the seat.

"We will be take on this seat with a ferocity by 2024." Mike Berg, an official of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, stated in an announcement. "This might be one of the many Democrats who choose to retire instead of losing."
